hood splitting??how do u do it

i have a kawi 750sx and i want to split the inner shell from the outer shell without trashing the outer. Anyone know an easy way to take them apart,(heat gun,hammer and screwdriver). i want to make my hood lighter so i dont have to by one from waterdawg. Anything will help!!:bananajump:

Don't know if it's any differnet but to seperate the liner in my superjet hood I worked a chisel in, pushed out a little, worked another chisel in a couple inches away, pulled the first chisel out, and repeated the process all the way around the hood.

Use a heat gun it makes the whole process way easier use a ice pick to scratch the glue out from between both pieces and of course you will need to pry with screwdriver's or similar.

jjc568 took his out and i took part of mine out. what you want to do is cut it from inside the lip that seals against the hood seal
