Use contact cement and follow directions.
The glue must be DRY before sticking it down. If you think it's dry, have another beer. It's not dry yet.

Lay it out in the sun for about 30 minutes before you start, it makes it real soft and flexible, and it gets the curl out of the sheet from being rolled up.

Sand both surfaces...... apply 2 coats to the turf. one to the hull........ Let dry, proceed to adhere, but first, set it back down and go drink another beer....... Install turf. Use a rubber mallet and beat the :):):):) out of it. This helps to fuse the turf to the hull.... Gives new meaning to "Contact"......... Trim the edge of the turf with a razer blade at a 45 degree angle.(This way water spray does not it the turf and try and pull it loose) You can use a sanding block to smooth up........ Where the turf meets the side of the hull, you can caulk this with Black RTV silicone. This will help to keep water from getting under the turf and causing it to turn loose. where you shaved/sanded, you can run a small bead of superglue to help bond/seal the underside. Also superglue any seams together if you do not have a full run of turf from front to back.

Pretty much that, but I haven't found the 45 degree cut to be necessary if you get the adhesion right.

Haha ^^

i learned if you start to cut the excess turf once it's glued on the ski and you stop I use another new blade, cuts come out clean and not all dull

LOL......... Believe it or not, gulp, I learned this trick from Stoyer......... It does make sense. 1st time I turfed my SJ, ski was still OEM White..... That stuff stuck and never came loose.... Next time, was after I painted, It actually pulled the paint with it, learned the hard way, Sand the paint off or dont paint the rails..... Next time, It did ok, some did come loose, Next two times, (Old Hull and Current) Trimmed and sanded and it stayed on there much better.

if not been said yet use a heat gun it make it easier on the front nose and rear hull..when trimming the excess turf use a hot utility blade to trim....it cut like butter when blade is heated..

Totally agree with beating the turf with a rubber mallet. You can watch the turf get pounded into the rail!
l had a comeback recently that l didn't add a bead of silicone (bad move) to the rail.lt didn't all come back up,but where there was a significant gap between the hull and deck is where the turf came off.Seems like its just the sj's that do that.

and thanks for a good write up bk!
