I have sent quite a few engines and never had a problem with a layered cardboard box. Get a large cardboard box and layer it with bubble wrap then place cardboard inside then the engine. Works great and free if you have bubble wrap laying around.

wheres the jet pump?
the motor without the pump is useless
it will be one fast rubber maid once you put the pump in
i have some left over foam from my build if you need it

ive been shipping motors like that for a few years...

old clothes or sheets or pillows work great as padding

smal screws through the lid into the tote work well to keep the lid on even if the UPS/DHL/FEDEX driver drops it from 6 feet

I have to get back in the summer/jet ski mind set. My first thought was how is anyone getting a big v6 and 2 turbos in that box. HAHA

sent an engine to LBE using the same method except I double wrapped the shortblock in heavy duty carbage bags and then sprayed expanding foam all around and up under it to really lock it in place. everything went well exept I left the spark plugs in there and UPS decided to drop something on top of it. Not sure if I will go that route again!
