Hell, slap a lightweight flywheel on it, with a couple other mods and you'll have more than enough brap. IMO.

The kawi would work, but why. Yamaha will bolt right in, and there is alot more parts available. I'm also looking to go Yamaha in my Q8 for next season. Oh and to answer original question 1500 obo because of low hours on crank, GLWS

#1 reason is for ease of installation...not saying that putting the kawi motor would be overly tough. But, I like the idea of a yamaha based motor in a yamaha based hull.
