What do you want to do with it?

I took 1.75" off mine and it made it more nimble but didn't lose that much stability and was excellent in surf.

mine is the same and im about the same size. a friend went around 3" and it was to much. 1.75-2.5 is as far as i would go on a stock hull

yes i already have a stock d cut plate along with trim and all the other normal mods, factory pipe, impeller, flywheel lightened etc etc.
i want it more flickable for rolls and flips.

I went -3" on my RN, with tubbies, and loved every bit of it. Had a D-cut plate too. I weight 155 lb and am 6'. It got a little bit unstable at high speeds, but I don't typically ride like that either way.

Sounds about right. The heavier guys always have the luxury of throwing their weight into their take-offs just by the nature of it. My 180 lb counsin used to throw around my RN way better than I could and only rode a few times a summer, but once I shortened it up a bit I got a much better feeling for launching with the tail of the boat digging in a little deeper.

I'm 5'8" 155 at -3 on hull and -4 pole. 735ccish ,ppe and 10/16 hooker and ride mainly surf. For sure lost stability but once in surf it's much better, try and ride a bunch of skis first. It took me a bit to get used to -3.
