Super Jet How much to pay for Vinyl wrap?

Been calling around a bit locally about vinyl wraps in the St.Louis area...However I have no experience with this stuff so I have no clue what a reasonable price is. I am waiting on a response from the second company, but the first company quoted me around $500 per ski(RN Superjet) with a 3 year warranty against fading. Im guessing this doesn't include their designers rates($65 per hour).

Any input?

my guy does the COMPLETE top and sides below bond line for $365 Graffic effects racedaygraphics.com

Thats a great price...however I need someone to install it as well so im looking for someone local. I have watched videos of vehicles being wrapped and it seems to be something I would probably mess up my first time.

do they need the ski to cut the decals? or is it something you could have them ship you and get your local guys to do?(if they have templets)?

i asked my local guy about it and they said with the work because of lack of templets =huge$$

ive paid big bucks for paint that gets scratched up i would think a wrap would last longer

Im in the same boat..I think a wrap would last quite a bit longer. The only thing you really have to worry about is fading...but the local company guarantees theirs for 3 years against fading. And im guessing as long as the surface is prepped right they guarantee it not to come off.

The bottom of mine is all that gets scratched up...but that will just be getting painted white.

i really wonder how much it would fade if you didnt leave it out in the sun all day, if you go this route id love to hear what you think of it after having it for a while

im really getting sick of worrying about scratching my ski and im running out of stickers to cover it all lol

I'd imagine it can't be super difficult to install. Provided you only remove a little bit of the backing at a time and use a bondo plastic squeegy to push all the air bubbles out.

Also, for a tip. There is a spray (think it's just soup and water) you can spray your ski prior to putting graphics on, this will cause a delay to the glue and let you line everything up then push the air and liquied out. I've seen this method used on dirt bike and quad graphics kits. Don't know about a full body wrap....

there's my $.02 I'm just going to paint my ski with a few different colors and some masking tape. Seems like an expoxy based spray paint or rustolium is the way to go there.

Definitely depends on the design, and the shape of the hull. A hydrospace would obviously cost much more to wrap as opposed to a super jet because of all the body lines and installation time. I only make graphic kits, I don't offer wraps, so I don't have prices on complete wraps, but my graphic kits are generally in the $150 range, so about $500 for a full wrap seems fairly reasonable.

it was bottom, sides below bondline, all above bond line, chinpad.

I think you guys need to move to GA and ride with us. I've painted ski's for both of the guys I ride with for basically the materials (sand paper, any primer, tape, etc.) it costs me to do it. They just have to buy the paint and I even forward them to a site that I've used for years that they can get more than enough paint for under $100.

...or find that random friend near you that has the air compressor.

How about I drive to GA and we make it a weekend ordeal? Then when its done we can go try them out :):)

There are plenty of people I know that paint...However if they say they will hook me up, then it turns into something that ends up not happening. Or they say they will do it for materials plus beer or something..and end up wanting alot more. If im going to pay for it, im going to pay to have it professionally done.

Hell my dad paints..but we don't really have the right equipment, and don't have a good indoor facility to do it in any more.

but i can tell you right now it doesnt look like that anymore. we did a test on the durability of the wrap on the bottom.... and it failed hard. but hey we tried, problem was that we wrapped the bottom over the vinyl on the side so once water got in to the bottom wrap, it tore the sides up. would have never happened if we didnt wrap the bottom. i also had a piece on the hood get blown off but im very hard on my stuff and they are going to warranty the work. mine has not faded. its not bullet proof but if you take care of it it will last along time. i just thrash my :):):):) so it shows he he he he heeeee
