I just bought a stocker and was wondering if i need to install an aftermarket bilge. this is just my backup ski.

You have no choice my friend! You MUST have a bilge on these things, and double check the hood seal. Some years are worse than others, whats yours? Some of the real hardcore guys (Pete) go as far as to duct tape their hoods down just to make sure.

check the x2 mods thread an click on my build to see the appropriate hood modifications to keep her dry. i still run an aftermarket bilge as wellas the stock one. i will be adding a 3/4 scupper on top of that by using a versaplug from pwcdoctor.com

I put two 750gph bilges in my X2. I would suggest either a scupper and a bilge or two bilges. You can put them at that bulkhead next to the drive shaft. Try and leave the stocker in if there is room, it really gets the hull dry.

Scuppers are great but have dis advantages. Especially for those of us not fortunate enough to ride surf all the time. I ride surf rarely so I see no need in a scupper. I like to leave my ski sitting in the water on my anchor while I take a break and know that it's not going to sink. I can leave mine for hours, no troubles. But if you beach your ski every time you stop, then a scupper shouldn't cause you any trouble and will dump the water faster than a bilge.
I run two bilges in my X2. I usually only run one in the lake, and two if I'm in the surf or stabbing or something.
