How to lose weight

All these threads are talking about losing weight and I still haven't seen the answer. As an upcoming sports nutrionist I would like to share some incredible information with all of you on how to lose weight. And here it is...

High fiber. Low Fat. Exercise. Done.

Eat bran cereal, double fiber wheat bread, a delicious shake with plain yogurt, strawberries (keep leaves if fresh) and banana. Really hungry? Eat frozen boneless-skinless chicken, make a deli sandwhich with no cheese.

Do NOT eat pasta, do not eat steak, do not eat power bars, dairy products, or delicious sweets.

As far as exercise goes, do anything. Get a $50 heart rate monitor and do something. As long as your heart rate (for most of you) is above 130, you are burning fat. If you're older, your heart rate might want to be around 140ish. Do this for at least 40 min. a day, 4 days a week for the rest of your life, and you will look good.

Done.

We did a garden for the first time time this year.
For the past five weeks I have been eating lots of cucumbers, zucchini, tomatoes, peppers, broccoli.
That, and Tuna. I also limited how much I eat for dinner.
I've lost 8 or 9 pounds in those 5 weeks, not a bad rate.

About 5 yrs. ago I lost 30 lbs. on a low carb diet (loosely based on "Protein Power Life Plan" By husband and wife doctors Eades). I always had more than enough to eat on the plan and like that kind of food.
Since then I have kept it off just by eating relatively balanced meals in moderation and cutting back a little when I start to bump 180 on the scale.

I quit drinking alcohol. Since July 1st I dropped from 165 to 144. That and eating healthy. Not trying to derail at all. But, if you have alcohol issues, please consult your doctor first. He, or she will need to help you and your body get through it.

Five years ago I lost 50 pounds.
How did I do it?
Cut out white flour, sugar, dairy (for the most part), almost all processed foods (unless they are organic and healthy....read labels) and quit soda all together.
And, started exercising on a REGULAR basis.

The pounds literally fell off.
It wasn't that hard.

Move more, eat less. It's easy. Really.

We eat at least 80%+ organic, and we don't eat ANY crap.
And, my wife's life-long battle with acne disappeared......who'd a thought. (eye roll)

Following that philosophy, I should be a whale I think.

I eat nothing but pasta, steak, dairy products, and delicious sweets. Ice cream is my favorite since it comes from the store ready to eat.

I don't exercise or eat nearly enough fiber.

Not very often can I sit on the couch and watch a show, though.

I have just been forced into a weightloss program. I really didn't want or need to be on one. It is going good so far, three days and 7 pounds gone already. That's what happens when you get sick at the bar from goldshlager and nicotine and your girl of seven months runs out of the bar with her ex boyfriend swinging hands and kissin on each other. WTF! sometimes life just sucks.

I highly recommend a bitter, heartless breakup for anyone attempting to loss a few pounds.

Happy to trade my misery for your excess calories, just pm me.

Hey, I can relate.
For me, another quick, easy weight loss program is late stage cancer. Or mass amounts of high-dose chemo.
The weight just falls off....(unfortunately, so does the muscle, but I digress)

bodybuilding.com is an awesome website. its not just about body building but there is all kinds of articles, forums, etc. on what types of diets are best for each person...everybody's body is different and has different needs. so if a low carb diet works great for one person, it may not work well for another. have to find what works for you and then implement a kickazz workout program into your day and anyone can shed the weight and get in good shape. muscle tone comes with the healthy eating and exercise, but alot of it has to do with genetics also.

Know how that goes! I lost 20 lbs in a similar situation. Although my girl chose my best bud instead of her ex. Solution: Ski more!

This is the Key. EAT LESS.....Period!

Since then I have kept it off just by eating relatively balanced meals in moderation and cutting back a little when I start to bump 180 on the scale.

its pretty simple. just eat less calories than you currently are eating and start working out. you will see improvement.

You need to create a calorie deficit in your body. Sure you are welcome to work out but even that is not necessary as long as you still have that deficit in calorie intake. You need 2K calories in general just to be alive and walking everyday. Eat ANYTHING you want but eat LESS....Portion control is the key.....your body will do the rest.

I did not believe it at first but I have lost 18 pounds so far in 13 weeks eating anything I want in small quantities.

I am still 30 pounds away from reaching my goal but I am in no hurry.
