Super Jet How to run dual cooling outlets

Hi everyone, i have a RN SJ with a B-pipe and ada head (dual cooling lines out of head). I was wondering what the correct routting for my cooling lines would be. I allso have a Jetworks flow control valve i would like to install.

I would like to run dual pissers.



This is a list of mods that are on the ski
62T unported 760
ada girdled head, 35cc domes
Factory pipe B
MSD enhancer

i found some diagrams on here, the fist pic is sorta like my my current setup. Only difference is that i have dual cooling outlets on my head going into a T and then into the top of the headpipe (reversed flow of the picture)

the second looks like it would work fine for me right?
(i have 3 pissers available so no problems there.)

I would like to install a jetworks flow valve in there, should i do that after the T towards the stinger of before? When using the fcv i could loose the 1mm restrictor right?
Are those restrictors nessecary and if so any advice on how to make budget ones?

Hi supertune, thanx for your reply. The drawing you posted is for double cooling inlets btw, doesnt mather?
I would like to set it up right at once, and somehow it seems that my engine gets a bit hot with the single pisser setup. I have everything needed to complete the setup like the second picture in my first post, any reason not to go that way??

I have a 10-16 hooker, but actually would rather have a 9-15. I have a msd, and my stator plate is set right at the factory mark, should be fine right? My cylinder is beeing bored to the second oversize as we speak, i had a bit of a lean seizure while running WOT (for 10/15 seconds). I have installed a 160 main instead of a 155 in my powerbomb, and replaced the fuel lines and crankseal just to be sure.

water routing will not change whether you have two inputs or one to the manifold. Do not run it how you have it in the second picture.

^That is not true.^ Two in and you need two out. One in one out. The two below are correct, choose which one dependent on how many lines you run from the pump. FCV goes after T just before stinger and you should still run a restricter after it (2mm). Do a search to get ideas for cheap ways to restrict your lines. If you do dual cooling (lower pic) you might need to restrict one or both of your pissers as well to get the proper temps. Again, do a search, this has all been covered.

And I'm sure it works but why go through the trouble when there are simpler ways that work just fine? And more importantly, why for the op in this thread. To quote the master:

No need to re-invent the wheel...Just use a simple and proven setup until your setup runs perfect then try some crazy stuff later.

Sure about that? I run one line into my engine and use two head outlets and have been doing so very successfully for almost two years.

I guess that is what I am used to since that is how a stock SXR is from the factory. I forgot that the superjet only has one pisser stock. Either way, he wants to utilize the second fitting on his ADA head. Just run one overboard and then the other overboard is from the stinger. Monitor water temp of course such as Dustin has specified.

dual outlets can be run from single cooling
IF you have moderate water temps and
severely restrict the pisser from the head.
By running dual outlets from the head, it avoids hot spots
that can develop if you trap water. ada is designed for dual outlets
to optimize cooling of both cylinders.
 
How severely should i restrict the pisser from the head then tor p do? What size hole should there be in the restrictor?
What size of restrictor to run in the stinger bypass?

(using the bottom picture of dustin, only with a single line coming in)

Why don't you just RUN a 2 line for dual cooling? You will need a bilge pump system if you use the stock bilge tube for a waterline, or just get the Hot Products cooling tube kit and all you have to do is a little drilling, tapping and plumbing.
My suggestion if you are to stay with a single cooling, run a Y fitting off of the single incoming to 2 fittings on the exhaust manifold (just like dual cooling) then point the fittings on the ADA head to each other connect them then put in a t between them for going back to single to feed headpipe. This will give you in a sense mirror cooling so you don't have any hot spots or unbalanced cooling to throw off jetting because the operating temps to each cylinder are different.
Especially in your case as you have a single carb and no way to tune each cylinder like you could if you have dual carbs.

P.S. If you have the correct piston clearance for a dual cooled engine... you WILL make more power and HAVE more consistency with jetting when doing so from less temperature swing!

.13mm to .14mm depending how cold the water is that you ride in.
This is for CAST pistons, forged pistons will need .16mm to .17mm.

Yes, that's correct, for what I was saying with a single incoming line.

Anyone have suggestions for running three pissers / water outlets? Pro's and con's of 3 outlets vs 2? I have been running my cooling lines they same way as they were when I got my ski. Previous owner ran the lines this way... Looks like a different set up than everyone else is runninng, any issue with how they are run? I am droppin' in a new motor and now is the time to re-run cooling lines if I need to... I appreciate your input. Thanks guys!

ive got a question. I have dual cooling coming in (solas mag pump), ada head (dual outlet) but only a single inlet on the manifold (b-pipe to come) any suggestions on how to run my plumbing?

Drill and tap another hole for a 3/8 fitting.But what are you using to bring the second line in from the pump?
