How to select a hemlet? What do you wear?

I would like to buy a helmet.

I ride 75% of my time on flat water, but this summer I should be making a few trips to the ocean.

What kinda helmets do you guys wear, brands, style, and why?
I really know nothing about them...

Would like to stay under 200-250.... but if cheaper gets it done:arms:

I had the all black one...what I'm wearing in my Avatar. I liked it....it was light.
However, I lost it and had to get a new one. I couldn't remember
what I had so I bought this one (the gray/black/white one)
thinking it was probably similar.

The new one isn't bad either, it's just a bit bigger than the old FL-39 one.
The new one seems to be made better, though.

I just got a sixsixone full bravo, and I like it. Only used it twice so far, I wish it had a buckle instead of the reverse strap under the chin.

I also like what Yamaslut uses because its light weight and covers your face. I think its a kayak/ whitewater helmet.

The FlY BMX helmet is best for the $ if you find last years model on clearence they are like $40.00, but I love the old bell full face BMX from Walmart too.
