How to take full advantage of an OEM tank?

So anyways, my hull is going to be very light(60-70 lbs) and a ported 701 and I'm planning on trying to keep it very light. That being said, I'm not gonna be running a 15 lb battery and at times I'm not going to want to fill my tank all the way(when it's flat with no boats). However, running a stock tank at low levels is just begging to suck air... That's one of the reasons people go to cart tanks besides just fitment issues. This hull will easily fit an oem tank so I'd like to take advantage of that. Are weighted clunks the only way to resist sucking air at below 2.5 gallons in an oem tank? Or are there any other secrets? I can especially see the benefit of a smaller tank when you're going to be upside down alot and really really sloshing fuel around.. And that's gonna be me this summer.
Thoughts?

I'm planning on using the stock filler cap and modding the tank for internal fill to save moneys Haha.

If the ski is going to spend a lot of time floating upside down like you say, I would invest in a real internal fill. Cutting a hole in your tank WILL leak.

With a good sealant and the oem rubber gasket why would it leak? I've heard a lot of success stories of DIY internal. I didn't necessarily mean floating upside down. I meant inverted doing tricks, etc.

Ive seen those, id try to find a proper internal fill, their pretty cheap. Saw a UMI internal fill on pwc-today a while back for 45 bucks.

Some say fuel foam but you want to keep an eye on your filters
Exactly. The last thing you want is for it to deteriorate and go through your pickups..

I think on a budget, cutting down the original pickups and adding some flexible hose with weighted clunks would work well.

I have some fuel clucks that have built in filters on the ends of them if anyone wants them. I just have to go dig for them lol

Your fuel should remain at the bottom of your tank while you rotate upside down, right? That whole centripetal force thing...? Plus you should be off the throttle while in the air and not sucking much fuel.
Don't over think a stock gas tank. Just put some clunks on there. I've run my tank to the point where there were literally about 4-6 ounces of fuel left, just enough to cover the clunks with the nose elevated... And I don't have fuel starvation issues till that point.

I have a tendency to overthink everything..And yeah, you're write about centripetal force. It was a late night thought, I guess I didn't think about the physics I was taught last quarter :p
Sounds to me like I'm probably going to cut my pickup(if I can't raise it up enough, I only run one pickup connected since I eliminated the fuel selector), put on some tygon with a clunk connected to it and call it a day.
