Seen a couple of them once while riding Oregon surf. They were a ways out there though.
Had a Minke whale surface between me and my bro-in-law once. That was fun.

Had a 30-40 foot grey swim under me at Kayak point, took a minute to realize what it was......

I've had a nurse shark come close to the surface while in the surf one time... that was cool.

Honestly, that would be a dream for me...

I missed my one chance to dive in a pod as I had students with me, but killer whales are the shiat!!!!

That would be AWESOME!!!!! That looks dayum near photo shopped. I have had daphins do this right beside me on nice sized waves but prolly so has everyone else.

It would be really cool if someone was doing a backy right over top of him, that would be really, really cool. I'd try, but I cant do a backy, and there are no killer whales in the Chesapeake. We will sometimes get dolphins though.
