650/X-2 hpr racing

I'm rebuilding my 650sx and someone on pwctoday is selling a hpr racing cyl block and wiseco's. Can anyone tell me anything about the cylinders? I looked em up and can't find anything, is this something that the company probably just made a few of or had a few made and stamped their name on it. Would they be ported most likely?

ok, thanks. I don't think it's the same cylinders, but illl when he sends me more pics. Ill probably buy them. It's 180(shipping included) for a set of brand new wiseco pistons and these cylinders. So i think its worth it

Logo looks familiar. Hall's Precision Racing located in Glendale AZ. 623-931-8132 5814 North 52 ave Glendale AZ, 85301. I have a couple friends that have old vintage ski's that he built for them. Extremely fast 550 and 650sx with alot of expermental work done. He started as a mechanic for team green back in the day. At one time he even built motors for Tera Laho back in the 90's. He is big on modding factory parts, cases, cylinders, manifolds etc. He is defiently not a wiesco fan. I have had him do cylinder boring for me but that's about it. Have not needed anything done in a long time. Contact him and send him a pic of logo on cylinder, he will let you know if was done by him.

Just read the for sale post on pwc today. That's got to be one of his cylinders. He is big on port matching intakes and exhaust manifolds. He does good work, I have known him for many years. I forgot in the first post but he did reshape the domes and shaved my stock cylinder head on my old 440. I also bought a metering block that he designed and built that the 2 cooling lines I had running off the top of my head ran to. The idea behind it was to equilize the temp between front and back cylinders. Give him a call, he may give recommendations on set up for you. His name is Jerry Hall.

ok, thanks. These are the pics. There's a huge threaded stud in the top pic, not sure what that is... and could anyone tell me if a slight hone would fix the sleeves? They look like they're in good shape except it appears that there's some little pockets around the same height at the ports.

Cylinders don't look to bad. Just keep in mind if you are running wiesco pistons, that they need a larger piston to cylinder wall clearance. Might be better off taking it to a shop for hone and piston fitting. Good luck on your project and keep us informed on performance when done.

ok, i was going to bring it to a shop to get honed. Wasn't going to do that myself...maybe in the future. Ill either bring it to a local machine shop that my brother uses or make a trip to atlanticjetsports. Kind of want to do the later of the two cause they should know what they're doing... I'll post up how it performs but won't be until summer. Probably will make a build thread.
