Freestyle Hull design

I never had a standup before but have been riding jet skis for years. I am bored of not being able to jump and do some stupid stuff. I have jet skis to ride around in so I'm looking for something more for freestyle use. I weigh 250 lbs and that is what I am trying to overcome. I know that everyone has their opinion but what would be best for me, 750, 650, 550, 550 with a 650 conversion.... I have great balance and I'm not worried about top end speed, just enough torque or hull shot to have fun if I'm thinking correctly. I am very mechanically able to do a conversion so I'm not afraid of doing that if that is what is best. I just don't know what hull is best for fun.

Is it worth doing conversions? I heard that the 750 hull is crap, the 650 is heavy and hard to throw around, and anything lower than 650 would be too underpowered for me. But when I looked it up, from what I see, there is only a 25lb difference between 650s and 550s. Is that true?

It sounds like Yamaha is the better choice between you two. Everyone I know has a Kawasaki so I never gave thought to a superjet. Are they pretty light? Can you throw them around pretty well?

Stay away from Kawi. Find a 91-95 superjet with a 701 engine in it. Kawis are heAvy. And unless you get a 650 or bigger Kawi, they're underpowered. If you wanna do anything freestyle, with parts availability and easy to work on, Yamaha.

For a decent 91-95 superjet, what is the going price. There is one in the area with a trailer for $1650 that looks very clean

701 Superjet, shorten the pole to start. Then to down the mods list starting with a pipe.

Do not pay more for modifications. You can add on later. Spend you money on the cleanest most reliable ski you can afford. Condition > performance, its much easier to add parts to a clean ski than repair a :):):):) ski with work out performance parts.

The 701 didn't come out to 94? If that's true is it possible to find a clean 701 superjet for around 1600? Or am I better off with a 650?

Buy the square nose and sell the trailer to fund some mod parts or maintenance. Square nose SJ is the best bang for the buck of any ski out there IMO.

So the 650 would be ok with a few mods? Even for a guy my weight I will be able to get it to jump enough to have fun? Also if I do buy a 650 square nose to save money, is there a certain year I should buy?

You need to start somewhere and that's a good platform to get into. Sell the trailer and all you Kawis to fund a bigger motor and some mods and you'll never look back

Ok great, thanks. Is there a certain year I should look for or anything I should look at specifically, such as something that rots out or breaks. Also, why are you all saying superjets over Kawasakis, are they that much lighter or is it the hull design?

Hull design, weights, reliability, and parts are all over the place. A lot of parts swap over from different skis too.
