What is the best material to use to fill in the small scratches and gouges in the bottom of a superjet hull. I was thinking marinetex would work well but maybe there is a better product out there.

marine epoxy resin mixed with a good sandable filler. Get the right filler spheres. Some aren't meant for below the waterline although I doubt it matters since we never leave our skis in very long.

Look at west system they have several fillers that will work for you,#406,407 and 410 they can be used seperatly or together to get the hardness,consistancy and sandability that you want.

Sorry, you probably wouldn't know it was spheres by reading about them. It's the West systems fillers or the fillers from other brands. They are mostly made up of glass or polymer microspheres. Kinda like a microscopic glass beach ball.... Some of the polymer ones don't like prolonged exposure to water, thus the warnings to not use under the waterline of a boat.

ive heard you WANT the small scratches in the hull for handling. too smooth and it will be too slippery.
makes sence i guess.. :ponder:

that does hold a valid point, you would want more handeling. But if you were riding flatwater and wanted to attempt a roll or backflip wouldn't you want it as slick as possible to help reduce drag.
