Other Hurricane Riding

Is anyone going to ride Hurricane Irene? I think it would be better to go out pre or post storm (for safetys sake.) Maybe even stay in the Rivers and Bay. I know there will be a small craft advisory probably starting Friday Night from storm surge. Anyone have expierence in these conditions?

Dont be scurred, quite a few of us heading to the beach this weekend. O.C. mostly. looks like Saturday will be a pretty darn decent day til the T-storms blow in actually.

as long as the storm isn't right on top of your location it should be pretty decent, def don't head out there if you don't have much experience in surf
But, they did upgrade it to a 3, it should be pretty gnarly!!

Prep your ski accordingly.. charge the battery, make sure your bilge(s) work, install tow loops front and rear, bring a tow rope, install hood straps. Other than that make sure your ski is 100% reliable.

Ride with an experienced group.

If the hurricane comes too far inland, and it gets too crazy here: we may bail on the surf and ride the Severn instead, at least that way we arent trapped 3 hrs from home.

I will be riding at Hugo. Been making sure everything is good to go all week. Bilge, tow rope, loops, hood strap, riding buddies, go pro (if it gets here in time). Yeah we went to OC when i lived in VA in Ernesto i think. Buddy lost his sxr never to be found. And we couldnt get home because they closed all the bridges...that was a story let me tell ya!
