With wave forecasts bigger then I have ever seen them, I plan on going to check out the southern tip of Lake Michigan tomorrow afternoon. I will be at the Michigan City, Indiana lighthouse taking some pictures. Anyone else with some Great Lakes pics feel free to share here. Pics to come tomorrow.

My parents live on the lake near Michigan City, Indiana.

Here is the nearshore forecast:

http://forecast.weather.gov/product.php?site=iwx&product=nsh&issuedby=iwx

The weather channel is calling for waves up to 23ft.

This will likely be the biggest surf I have ever seen on the lake. I am pumped and praying that property does not get damaged.

I'll be checking out the 20+ footers in Cleveland in the morning. Might ride, but I doubt it....too nasty. Gonna try to get some good vid, but it'll be hard, waterproofing my camera right now and will bust out the gopro.

The national buoy data center has recorded 23ft waves on southern Lk Huron this morning, and 13ft waves west of Cleveland on Lk. Erie. The real kicker is the predicted 33ft waves on Lk Michigan along southern Wisconsin.

It is nuts here! Trees and gutters in my back yard. And I am 1000 yards from the shore and it sounds like I am in the observation deck at Niagara!

I spent a lot of time at the beach/boat ramps/marinas/river yesterday and all I can say is WOW! 3-4 foot rollers rolling up river and slamming in to the draw bridge!

At one point I was leaning at a 30 degree angle in to the wind just trying to hold the cam still....all the pics I have suck...I couldn't keep the cam dry....I'll try again today....

I can't imagine what is left of the 50+ boats that were still in the marina yesterday...

I am in no way trying to take anything away from the east coast but here are some pictures of the MI City Pier. The catwalk top of the black walkway is 32 feet off the water. The waves are breaking off shore 3/4 of a mile or so and rolling in like so.

The strongest wind I have ever felt, plus getting totally sandblasted. Standing up straight was not easy, and I thought my phone was going to blow out of my hand. I am not sure if this stuff was even rideable...

Just went out today to Lake Huron with my brother, and rode at Lexington. Dont have a gopro realize now need to make the investment. Although there was a guy on the peer/breakwall that took some pictures while we were out. He told us to email him and he will get back to us with the pics. The waves were huge though, the forecast bouy out there quit sending data today.... yeah they were that big. Pics to come!
