hx vs blaster riding style info needed.

How does seadoo hx compare to the blaster 1 in riding style.
I have ridden neither unfortunately but looking for
a small preferably inexpensive lean in craft type.
I know there are a lot of blaster fans on here and rearly seem to hear people
rave about hx:s, maybe a hint?
The hx:s are available at much better prices and closer to where I live.

The HX sucks.. The blaster is AWESOME!

But seriously. You can find an hx for pretty cheap but, IMO doesnt compare to the blaster. The hx is WAY too tippy. Stock it is a rocket though.
I just got a blaster 2 weeks ago and im pissed i waited this long to buy one. It handles like nothing else Ive ridden. Its tippy but know where near as bad as the hx. It just grabs the water.

I guess this is what i expect to hear. The blasters are popular for
a reason. The HX is fast otherwise it wouldn't win races but I won't be racing,
I'm looking for fun factor. I sometimes wonder about the power of a
stock blaster (which some for sale are) 63hp ? Saw a nice -93
with a 650cc for sale, but 50hp, seriously? I do weigh 205lb.
Don't want to spend a bunch of
$ on aftermarket parts.
Unfortunately I haven't ridden either ski.

Do not buy a blaster with anything less then a 701. They come with a 61x 701cc stock 93-95 and a 62t/61x (dual carb) in 96.

I have ridden both and think the blaster is more fun. But the HX is pretty fun too. Hell you can have fun on anything with an engine on the water. =)

Hx does not suck. Blaster is not better.

Hx is more powerful stock, longer, faster, corners better, more comfortable seating.

B1 has more bottom end, shorter, better jumper, more trick options.

Hx is the better racer or cruiser.

B1 is better surfer, freestyle or general purpose boat.

If a hx size is acceptable, then a b2 is also a possible option. Great cruiser, good racer, the 96 comes with trim stock, a great ski. Also easier to take a lady out with you. Easier to mount than the other 2 but still fun and cheap.

This site is a of surf and freeride, and if that's your riding style, then the b1 is the best choice.

^^^^hahahahahahahah, thyroid problem.

Fun factor, b1 all the way. If you can ride and know how to set one up, the b1 can be competitive on the track, but the HX is infinitely easier and more comfy.

IMO, the only way a b2 is fun is with a triple in it.

Even stock 61x blasters are a lot of fun. There's lots of little cheap mods you can do to a stock one. Drying out the pipe and advancing the timing really wakes it up

I rode one HX and thought it was really cool but under powered. I would LOVE to ride one with a big pump and some real power! I liked the unstable rail riding though!

Maybe the one I rode was a dog? Did they have diff motor options? I guess I meant it felt like a dog compared to a light stand up hull with a killer prop!

got one of each there both fun just different rideing styles.

The B1 has a great bottom end ski to play with needs a little more operator balance skill then newer skis great for surf etc etc where the HX is a hair longer but narrower require real balance skill , corners great great racer or ocean wave jumper, its harder for most rider to reboard but you can side saddle both skis to get up easy enough. you want at least a 701 or 760 in the B1 or do a conversion to 1100/1200

if your looking for cheaper skis those two hold vale fairly well there are other cheaper skis

I guess I'm a bit all over the place :) I've been thinking about buying something for quite a while. Riding mostly flat lakes a friend of mine told me I should get a standup.

It feels underpowered compared to a yamaha because it is in a way. It doesn't have that instant throttle response we expect from the b1 and other yamahas. It's not snappy, but its more powerful through the mid and top. It feels less powerful because it has to wind up a little. No snap. Not as exciting.

I wonder if anyone has ever done pump tunnel mods/pump changes and a motor swap! I would love to ride HX with tons of power throughout!

I always wanted to shoe horn a yami power plant into my hx so I wouldn't have time to smoke a cigarette in between grabbin a handful of throttle and waiting for the engine to realize its time to go
