hydroturf glue

im back riding my 98 superjet after it sitting under the work bench for 3 years.(busy kids) i recently installs turf on the side rails, i used contact cement as it has always worked great. after 2 hrs of riding the side sections started pealing loose. top sections are still good. any thoughts? i cleaned the surface before applying cement but did not sand it, could that be it?

Angle the lowers edges at 45 deg.. with a razor. Also scuffing the paint with some sandpaper will promote better adhesion..Braap

Smack the edge with a rubber hammer also after you cut the turf at a 45.
