I hate to turf!

I ordered a sheet of ribbed purple Hydro Turf since it was on sale. Well HT screwed me because the ribs were running long ways. So I decided to lay the turf on an angle to make it look a little better. All was going to plan until I realized I would have to rotate my other pattern 90 degrees. I want the ribs to angle from front to back, inside to outside. So I had to order another sheet of turf = more money...

All in all things are going good. I got one tray well done and one rail half way done. I can finish the front small pieces of rails but I will be stopped until my other sheet of turf comes in. Plus the padding was too small and I need another piece of it.

Which reminds me, anyone ever pad an X2 tray? When I bought my old HT straight from HT, it did not come with any padding. The ribs also ran sideways across the tray. I did buy one of those wedges for a stand up and I cut it to fit. But I think I will use it on my other ski.

Finally if anyone wants some gay purple on their X2, I will have a spare set of tray turf once I am done. I can cut it to fit. I must say the tray I have cut so far fits way better than when I ordered turf precut directly from HT years ago. Their pattern was a little off. Otherwise the pads will go on eBay.

I know, I know... The 93 is getting a few performance upgrades. But the 800 is going in the 94 X2 off to the left in the pics.

For it I still need to order:

New Dakine Straps & Twist Control retainers
Billet Couplers
TBM Pump Stuffer
Mag Prop
Quick Disconnect Fuel & Water Connectors
ADA Billet Head
Marine Grease
Loctite
Pinch on hose clamps
Permatex silacone RTV

I need a machine shop to:

Cut & reweld a 750 SX intake grate
Cut a 650 pump shoe off of a junk pump
Mill my carbs for my JSS mixture knobs
Machine me a fuel filler block off plate
Make me a set of rear hull steps or I have to order a set from Japan
Weld a stinger fitting onto my Wave Blaster limited chamber

Got to have Group K:
Bored my head pipe
Bore my exhaust manifold
Bore my pump & steer nozzles

That is about 90% of my to do list. I still have tons of little odds and ends to buy/fix. Right now the 94 is still put together and running. Although a chewed up stock prop makes it not run so hot.

that is a impressive list, we just turfed a squarenose with wdk footholds not a easy job, the purple will grow on you i got a sheet of them for 29 dollars with discount not bad, actually a lot of people like the purple on my x2, it gets dirty a bit , but cleans up with a good cleaner

I didn't get a discount The lady said it was already a discounted item so no go because I asked... Then when I ordered my second sheet, I just went through the website and it charged me 5 extra in shipping than my first order. Again more $$$

I am using black diamond turf for the 94. The 93 is already pink and purple so I will use purple turf and fuel lines. It is the "girlie" ski.

My first 86 came with pink HT.... I didnt even want to trailer it home it was so Fugly!

I saw someone buy some fugly pink turf for an X2 on eBay a week or so ago. I had to convince my girl back home in WV that the pink would fade and look like crap. But she kept persisting... So I said look purple is onsale so I will get it. I also got purple fuel/water lines coming from Merlin hopefully today. I got another piece of turf test fitted last night. I just need the rest of my turf to come in so i can finish it already...

Worked on it some more (all day!) today and with the help of YZ250FPilot, we finally got it done. Ski look a million times better. There are a few F ups but all in all it is good to go! Damn turf grew in size after it soaked up the glue.

YZ250FPilot ordered him and I some back in Feb I believe of the black molded diamond (around $65 a sheet?) and they gave him the 15% discount on it.
