check out my build pics. you can see where the second cooling line fitting goes on the head. the head is mounted 180 degrees in the pics from what it should be for optimal cooling. enjoy

You can also look at my motor pics. dont forget to drill and tap the pump and exhaust manifold for 1/2" fittings. the supply pipe is 1/2 inch even though the stock fittings are 3/8, you can get the fittings and some 1/2" hose pretty cheap at lowes or home depot.

you can see the hole drilled and tapped in this pic, didnt have fitting in it yet

I assume this requires removal of the head to drill the hole and tap it? If so I would need to get a head gasket kit when I put it back on? Although if I take the head off why not swap it with a SXR or what would you guys do?

why would i have to drill the exaust manafold and pump bigger?

You need to drill out the exhaust manifold and pump so you can swap out the small 3/8" fittings for larger, better flowing 1/2" fittings. Then you can run 1/2" lines from the pump to the pipe coming through the hull and from the other end of the pipe to the exhaust manifold. If you want more flow you need to let more water in, not just let it out faster.

yes you will need to remove the head in order to drill and tap it without getting metal shavings in the cooling jackets and you will need a new head gasket. this would be a good time to have the head milled down for highier compression too (if you do this have it done correctly, not just shaved off by a local machine shop) I really dont know if the 800sxr head is any different, either stay with the stocker or get A/M head. Most all A/m heads come setup for dual outlets any way though so now your talking about a pricey mod instead of a quick cheap one...
