Custom/Hybrid I wanna Powder Coat my carbs........ questions follow

Well want to experiment a little with some powder coating. I have the carbs torn almost all the way down but was wandering if the throttle butterfly bushings would withstand the heat of the powder coating process(400 degrees) for 20 min. If they will not can some one explain to me the process of removing the butterfly without destroying it and being able to put it back in? I believe the screws that hold on the throttle butterfly are staked on and in my experience you cant remove them with out screwing them up. Also what is the difference between a stock set of 44s and and aftermarket set? Ive heard the aftermarket sets are more tunable. I have already removed the choke plates and will be using a primer, But what is done to a set to make them tunable?

Jet Works turns the carbs into annular discharge Black Jacks (shoots the gas from 10 or 12 or so tiny jets). Art charges around $170 or so per carb. Carb re-build kits are around $40-50 per carb. Then, it is recommended to run the Jet Works linkage. All said and done, you will have close to $500 in the carbs. Jet Works sells brand-new Black Jack aftermarket Mikuni 44s all set up for around $800.

I went through this same situation. I ended up buying new Black Jacks instead of modifying my OEM 44s. He jetted them and adjusted the screws for my JW771, so tuning is a breeze.

Well after some thought I ground off the staked back of the screws and were able to remove them with out screwing up my linkages then bought some 3 mm x10 mm to replace them I will have to trim them and stake them to finish up. But here is a picture of my carbs prefitted after powder coating. I still have to rebuild the carbs and powder the intake.
