I'm done, selling out

I give up, 3 years of building up to have a stock 08 with a head, pipe and prop out do me. I have a ported big bore 760 with about everything you can think of short of TL. Gonna sell all my stuff and get an 09. Put my pipe and head with new domes on it a set of footholds and ride it till it drops especially since hitler is killing 2 strokes.

How is a stock ski outdoing your built bigbore motor? Is there something wrong with
it?
I ask because I had a 760 BB built last fall/winter and it spanks most everything around me, including other bigbores. I couldn't be happier with mine.

Mostly pissed off about carburation, dual 44's that ran like hell and couldnt be tuned for some reason and I didnt want to get a dam degree to figure it out and a single 48 that didnt hit as hard as a 08 with a head pipe and a prop. I would rather get an 09 and put a head, pipe and prop and run the piss out of it with no worries. Ive got all my buddies on the hunt for one for cost and when I do I'm done. Maybe if there was ANYONE in San Antonio that could tune a ski I wouldnt give up but it seems like a waste when an stock ski can keep up and feels mean.

I feel like unless I am competing (which I have no ambition to do) there is no reason to have a fully built ski when a ski with minimal mods will do the same job. I want to be able to hit the start button and go and get the best bang for my buck which seems to be a bone stock 08 09 (Yeah i have rode the :):):):) out of an 08 and I LOVE it.

My motor raps out as quick as any other a ski but the 08 was passing me on the top end so I got off it. Mine has a vibration on the bottom that I have thrown 300-400$ at to fix with no luck. while the 08 is super smooth. my hull takes on water like the titanic as its going under my buddy can play with his all day and it stays dry for the most part. If mine didnt vibrate and didnt take on water I would be more willing but it seems like it would be best to cut my losses and get a new one especially since its a dieing breed

Sorry to hear about your troubles.

Personally, going with my BB engine was the best thing I've done for myself with my ski.
Super-reliable (starts every time, never any trouble) and completely rips everywhere.
I think having my builder do the entire package (from flame arresters, reeds, exhaust, cooling, prop & pump) really helped with the end result.
I hope you get it figured out.

bring it on, save me 7K Im tired of my ski vibrating, I think my wife may be sabataging me... If it works I will buy it off you, seems like every 300-500 I throw at it could be well spent towards a new one... I thought a new prop would solve some of my problems but that was just a thought

I spent 4-6 hours re aligning the motor pulled the pump to check out the prop. Feels a little better but its not going to make the ski any faster or stronger I dont think, also found the shaft has a slight bend in it, about .010 if I had to guess. Still have my dealer buddies on the hunt for one in the middle of the country where they dont get ridden and dealers cant move them.

Johnny B's offer sounds great, He may get a handful if hes not careful :) Go up to austin on my next couple days off and let him have a go at it with all my junk in tow.
