So my names Evan and I'm from Bellevue, Washington.

I've ridden friends and relatives skis for a couple years and finally figured I should get my own.

As of an hour and a half ago I now have a 1986 Kawasaki JS550. It needs the top end freshened up and the carb rebuilt. Any suggestions on where to buy parts? Is the dealer my best bet?

Welcome new guy! :cheer::Banane01::cheer::Banane01:and as far as parts...check with your closest dealership...but you can find some great aftermarket parts on ebay!...I could see what the fiancee has laying around his shop as far as a carb for it!

carb and top end is easy and cheap! order your parts online... no one will have them her in seattle! so might as well order them and save on sales tax! Also if you need motor work done call randy at watcon http://www.watcon.com/ he is in bremerton! about an hour from Seattle.

I hate that paint job! It was a custom airbrush job done in 1990. The artist signed it. I guess it was cool at the time!

This winter I plan to paint it red w/ a fatty 91 on it, like my race car.

that paint job makes it unique.
Besides color wont make any difference its still gonna be 550,save money on paint and get..........superjet:cheer:
