Are you turning it the right way ? I am not real knowledgable about the yamaha's but I think the long side of the driveshaft goes through the impeller, (I could be wrong )

OK I read the whole post sorry , heat the shat out of it. use the boxend of your wrench and buy a vise made in america.

I had to heat a few until they turn red to get them off. I don't even try the propane I go straight to the ox/acc torch.

I don't know how bad the shaft is bent but you might find someone to straighten it out. I had really good luck with a local guy straightening axle shafts in the past.

Heat that sucker up or cut it.

x2.

also, use some "corrosion cracker" red penetrating oil on it. that stuff is good to 1 millionth of an inch in capilating corroded areas. when you heat the area, pour some on there, then heat it up again, pour some more on there, etc.. do that 5 or 6 times. it will come off.

Do you have the driveshaft spline tool?

Yesterday I took off a 94 fx1 stock prop that had seen salt water. I put the prop in the vice and put an impact gun on the spline tool at the end of the driveshaft.

With a few minutes of heat from MAP gas and a 400ft-lb impact gun it came off no problem.

I'm sorry but I definitely laughed pretty hard when I saw the broken vise. That's pretty impressive.

Anyway, the prop turns backwards (left hand thread). If you're holding the prop and turning the driveshaft, turn the driveshaft normally to loosen it.

Well I Got IT!!!

I actually did pre heat before I put it in the vice but after speedfreek said ox/acc torch I just left my porpane tourch on for about 10 Min on three sides...
IMG_0009.jpg

See the 3 white spots...i heard cracking so i figured after that it should work and with alot of grunt it popped...and it wasnt the vice this time!!!

As for the shaft i think it was an illusion after the impeller was off I rolled the shaft around (like a pool cue) looks fine.

When i put the new impeller on is BLUE lock tight ok?
and just spin her on till she stops right?

Oh And is this normal? shouldnt there be greese or somthing under?

I did the same thing last year. I broke the vise and bent the shaft. Do replace the seals and bearings (your are already there ) I too was installing a 9x15 impros hooker . Great prop for your set up. You will love it
