Other Importing a ski from USA to canada

Hi guys ,
Does anyone know if there is anything particular to do for crossing the border with a ski ?
Any paperwork or anything ?
Or do I just give the crate to a freight company with the canadian address and that's it?

You will need a bill of sale and ownership/title. That's it. You will pay taxes on the price when it crosses the border, it's pretty straight forward.

What if the ski is coming from a state that does not have titles? I'm in Alabama, and we only need a bill of sale when we buy a ski.

I would call the cbsa (Canadian border services agency) and ask them. My guess is the bill of sale is sufficient as jet skis fall under the category of general merchandise. I recently brought a Bob hull back from the us and into Canada and I just had to show a bill of sale and pay taxes on that amount.

I've never imported a ski but a complete ski with a HIN/VIN I would expect to be treated as a motor vehicle, no? A bare hull possibly not...

They definitely aren't considered a motor vehicle. I have done trailer, snowmobiles and motorcycles and all are totally different then a jet ski.

I've imported two skis and all you need is the bill of sale. On one of the skis I bought they did a VIN search to make sure the ski wasn't stolen too.

Ontario. Same across the country, amount of taxes paid between provinces is the only thing that changes.
