installing an XR-Tech pump shoe

I need to install this thing and can't figure out exactly what I'm supposed to be grinding on.

I completely removed the old shoe last night. I've got it up in place with just the screws.

What next? What type of glue? What should I use to grind it - and where do I grind it?

That's what is supposed to be better about XR's, it fits properly, so no (or little) grinding required.

it seems to fit as good as the shoe on my other ski - and doesn't seem to need any grinding - but Kurt said it's slightly undersized (for use with 142mm pump) and would need some clearance grinding.

I just don't know where - or what to use to grind with.

dont install with 5200 . use a quality epoxy

lol 5200 is my marine equivalent of duct tape. fixes everything :)
the screws are what primarily hold it, 5200 is more for the seal around it/make sure nothing gets between it and the hull.
*shrug* use what you want, but mines on with 5200 and has held up fine.

I have a 2" sanding drum on a die grinder. Works great to open the diameter up to match the 144mm wear ring.
so - should I match up a wear ring to the shoe, while not installed, to see where I need to grind?

The top edge of shoe seems to match wear ring fine - it's the bottom edge that needs some adjustment.

Is it bad to grind just a bit too much? I've got plenty of sanding drums - I'll go to town on it right after dinner.

I don't think I need to grind any at all on the bottom of the shoe as it seems to be fairly flush with the hull.

The stock shoe had yamaha green glop on the bottom and silicone up inside - should I just use the same glue throughout - or does it matter much?

Kurt recommended "940FS" glue - what is that and where would I pick up some locally?

Or - what can I walk into an auto parts store, Walmart or Grainger and buy that would do the job?

940FS is a bostik product. same stuff recommended to install tubbies.

search google or amazon. amazon has the cheapest price i have found for single tubes.
