Installing kicker footholds

image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg Just trying to finnish up these foot holds. Everything fit pretty good minus my hull is bowed out a lot more then the molds, no big deal. My main issue is they ride a little high with some good size gaps on ether side. Will I be best to sand down before riveting down, or should I not worry about it and sand it all good after I glass it? First timer doing footholds and points help

I use 1/2" self tapping screws to install fixed footholds. self tapping screw.JPG I then remove them after the epoxy cures and cover the holes with a layer of glass/carbon around the perimeter. Also I use a heat gun to help form the footholds closer to the shape of the hull to minimize the gaps. If the gaps are too large, sometimes you can just trim that section down to make it fit better.

I use rivets and glass right over them. Lots of cabosil will be your friend too get that resin thick so you can use it to smooth and shape edges
