I hate being married to my cell phone - but it is handy to have at times - this is what I did - get a "Lifeproof" case and floater and use a small bungie cord with terminal connectors crimped on each end and mount it on hood as shown.

Think about it, gps your speed and get a gforce app too, heck an altimeter for those big flips. If you mount that thing right you could sell the gopro, and if you sink your ski you may even find it with a ' find my iPhone app', lol!

i'm guessing you didn't skip the insurance plan?.... i've got a samsung s4 active... the phone itself is water "resistant", i have completely submerged it to about 5 feet.. but still leave it at home when i ride because i don't care to answer the phone while i ride... would be nice to tell time, but i can buy a waterproof watch or stick on clock for a lot less money....
