iridium plugs on SJ

so there i was, taking some spring clamps out of my van to turf a chinpad and i discovered the set of iridium plugs that i won at lanier (b8eix), and i though woohoo! wtf, why not try em?

i look online on a few places and the recommended gapping is .020 from what i can find. is this right? the plugs seemed to take longer to clear the engine out than b8es plugs. as if the smaller gap was less forgiving to moisture.

does anyone know positively what the gap should be on the iridium plugs? are they supposed to last longer than standards? im just so unsure!:pat:

i tried those plugs, my skis didnt start very good with them:dunno: i poped regular b8's in and they acted normal again.let us know how they work for you

I do know that John's ski tun's the Riva Dry Pipe and he bases most of his Tuning on that and "Moderate Freestyle". I don't know if the B-Pipe would act different with those plugs or not.

well, MY ski runs fine with b8es plugs. does the carb need to be retuned for iridium plugs? ???

No, it should not make any difference. I was just asking because, I don t see that there would be an issue with iridiums unless the boat just wasnt tuned well.

I realy dont have any idea why there would be starting issues, thats the first ive heard.

No probs with them here. :woot:

butti, you gap you b8's at .020??? isnt the recommended gap, .028 - .032 ?

fl cracker, do you know what your friend has his iridiums gapped at?
