Is there a 701 yamaha couch engine that is the same as they one used in the 96-07 superjets?

What is the model name of the couch ?? Can the engine be used in a sj?

I don't believe there was a 62T cased/61X Cylinder engine used in anything but the Superjet.
In fact, there was the 701 Raider engine.....T cased, dual 38's, with 701 T Cylinder.

yes.. 96' blasters use the same engine.. 62T/61x/38's/62T flywheel,stator

The rest of the dual carbs are 62T cylinders
pre 96' blasters, WR3's & some raiders are 61x/61x

62t cyl has higher exh ports than the 61x. Less bottom end grunt.

Pros: Great cases, dual carbs, thick sleeves, will bore to 760 just fine

Cons: 760 port timing, not as good as X cyl for bottom End. Properly ported, still great cyl..

However...the 701 T Sleeves have lower ports than the 760 T sleeves. :smile:
