Could be a 2013 too, the graphics are the same for both years.
Looks like a super clean ski, is it just the reflection but why is the orange part of the decal on the bottom of the ski faded?
he said it has and the engine looks cleanIf it's been in the ocean make sure the own's been flushing it after use.
Any other evidence of saltwater corrosion, look in and around the pump.
Test the compression in both cylinders if possible.
Stress cracks around the handlepole bracket and the bottom of the hull or anywhere else it could have been abused in the surf.
where else should I look for issues due to the salt?Any other evidence of saltwater corrosion, look in and around the pump.

Check the pump and prop. And look at the paint on the engine and excessive bubbling paint. Unfortunately the important parts to not have saltwater damage is inside. But if it’s been flushed after every use it should be good.
I was unable to ride it but rode a SXR right after and it seemed a little heavy hoping to drive the superjet next weekend
this one (the sxr) was fully modded ported and pipe. when you went full throttle it would rip your arms off. Not a lot of low end power though, and thats what im looking for. I want to drive that superjet this weekend and make my decision. I just want something that will turn on everytime and have some low end power.Ya, SXR's are a bit bigger and bulky compared to a superjet. Especially in stock form, an SXR really comes alive with an aftermarket pipe. I had an SXR for over 10 years and loved it but finally make the switch to superjets. Wish I had switched sooner. I like to tinker though and there are is so much more you can do to upgrade a superjet.
it was all for racing he only wanted 3500 for it but I just think it will have problems and want to drive the superjet first.I'm surprised the SXR with a pipe does not have much low end, mine did but it was set up that way. Is it a wet or dry pipe on the SXR you rode? If wet pipe it can be adjusted to better low end if it isn't already. Dry pipes are considered more of a racing pipe by most and would have less low end. Porting can also be aimed at more low or high end too.
