Long story short, Year ago I smoked a piston. Never really got it going last summer. Tried but had carb issues and just did not care. Went through motor over the winter and got it going in May, still had carb issues but got them worked out at Gil's ride, Had the wrong pop off springs. Later that day the stator cracked. Next ride I had bad cavitation. Replaced the rubber packing for the pump to pump shoe, problem fixed. 10 minutes after i put the ski in the water to test the cavitation (which was fixed) the front piston let go at half throttle, did not sieze, just had the exhaust edge burnt off. Thinking that maybe when the stator came loose it may have advanced and started eating away at the piston, once compromised, 2 rides later finished it off.

I have been plagued by some bad luck over the past 2 years so I decided to go back to my retired TLR cylinder at 82mm. Put the motor together 2 weeks ago but never got time to go out and finish until tonight. Headed out to the shop around 9:30 to just put the stator, bendix and such on, next thing I know I have the motor bolted in. Then the carbs, then electrical box bolted up. Now let me put the fuel lines on. Guess what, These Fuel Lines Biz crap lines are just that crap. I installed them in may and they are hard as a rock. I replaced the 2 intake lines with some more of that crap and will be ordering some OEM in the near future (Winter most likely).

Yeah, it is 11:27 at this point, but why not.

Hit the button, watch the fuel lines prime up and BOOM.

It cranked right up. hope to take it out Friday. I have a 10-16 Hooker that I am sure will be to tall but may be trading it for a 9-15 soon.

Maybe I might just get a ride in or two this year after all without it breaking.

Glad to hear its up and running again. Those fuel lines ruined most of my chances of riding this Summer, I hope he sold a lot of them because I believe the gig is up.

No kidding. That stuff is pure crap. Granted, they have been unhooked from the carbs for almost 2 months now. Do not know if that made a difference. Either way. Junk in, Junk out.

Plan to go break it in tomorrow then ride on Saturday.

Nope, makes no difference. I installed some in January on the second ski. I knew better but after I complained about it the first time, I was assured that it wouldn't happen again and that it was a bad spool of fuel line. Only took a few month for the new stuff to be hard as a rock.t's only come off for a few minutes at a time here and there. It's turned a solid color now so I know it's about to cause problems. It will be pulled in the next few weeks, probably right after the surf slam.

I have a whole spool on order at advance autoparts. I'm done with colored lines too. My red lines are now clear and hard after a couple months. Tigon lasts maybe twice as long but it still hardens too.

Ran Tygon from 07/08 until this winter, yeah, it is worlds better but still junk. Looked like crap when I pulled it out.

Let me know how that hose works you got on order.

I just remembered that I have a bunch of hose that came out of or B2 that I parted out. May use it. Think I may have enough.

i found 1/4" ID fuel line at Lowe's of all places. I think I payed $1.00/ft. It was cheap. Black, reinforced, and thick walled. Seems like decent stuff. I'm going to run it and give a report.

Man when are you guys going to learn... OEM only for fuel lines...

Maybe jetmaniac should start selling OEM lines from all the couches he parts. You guys are all going to need em sooner or later anyhow lol.

Great to hear you got the ski running again... Now go ride it and don't blow it up.

He does.

I have always said OEM was best. When I first needed to go redo my lines, I figured I would try the Tygon, it was when people first started using them, or shortly after. Gave it a shot. Then this Fuel Line Crap came out, everybody was posting on how good it was, so I gave it a shot. Price wise it is very good. But not worth it.

OEM line does get hard sometimes also. Not as bad but not as plyable as it is when new.

Only good thing about any translucent line is you can actually see that the fuel is flowing and even if you are sucking any air through a joint (Fitting), had an issue last year and the only way we figured it out was by Tricky riding it and he was stumped and then looked at it while riding and saw the bubbles in one of the intake lines.

Does this apply to his colored fuel line only? :dunno: I've been running the clear lines got half a year now, and they're still great. Then again, I run a 3:2 avgas pump has mix. Maybe that has something to do with it. :dunno:

Well what do you know, I put mine back together and started it yesterday! Now, who is going to be on the water first?

So its OEM or nothing, I think part of my problem with my ski not running right is air bubbles in the line and I have the fuel line.biz stuff. I work at an auto shop. is the 1/4 inch automotive line better? At least I could try it real cheaply.
