Does anybody know if there's anyone ''fighting'' to put our sport in the X-games?Any category,freestyle,freeride or racing...any.
That would be so good for us!

not sure about "fighting" but ive heard people say they have sent emails and called about it. I think i read somewhere that malone is really pushing to get jetskis into the xgames. that is one of the big reasons they built the ramp. To tour and get the sport to grow and become more excepted and realized as an extreme sport.
does anyone know of anything we could do to help push the sport into the xgames?

everyone just needs to work on promoting the sport, try to get sponsors outside of the jet ski industry. and try to get organized shows put together at big events. trust me, it works and i am starting to see it more and more. the PWC community is an awesome community and its strong!! where else can you go ride with people you meet online and have an awesome time and not once feel that it was akward?

I would be gung ho for any part of our sport to get into the x games, but I don't think the ramp or flatwater would be the best. It would only be a few who would able to compete. It needs to be a freeride competition in the surf, it would be much easier to draw attention to our sport with double barrelrolls, double back flips, BR re-entries, etc. Everything FMX does only we do better!! Someone needs to send some elprofessor vids, freeloaders, and motosurf to the x games people. Just my 2 cents.

if we can make a good professional promotional packet i can see what i can do. it wouldnt be until after this summer though because my dad (manager/ PR guy) is working on some norcal stuff with me, but im down with doing ANYTHING to get this sport more publicity!

Stay focused (& keep a positive frame of mind)...there are a lot out there who want to drag you and the sport down (some of these people are right under your nose), but most of all DON'T give up!

I know the competition would be much better in the surf but the problem with that is that the games must be close to the ocean. And that is not always going to happen. Malone built the ramp with the thought that there are lakes almost everywhere and the ramp would give everyone fair play. I would much rather see it done in some surf though.

Iv noticed that the sport has everything but the fans. The events are well staged, and the riders are all there, but most fans are usually the family and friends of the riders. At the very least, events can be promoted maybe a week or so in advance in locations of where theyre occuring and maybe more people will begin to catch on, and big sponsors will start becomming impressed

The xgames are put on at the staples center in LA. The Wakeboarding is done here in Long beach in marine stadium, and the surfing is done in Huntington Beach shortly after the US open of surfing. The surf venue is already there we just need to leech onto it. Even though the surf there isn't as good as O-side, It's still enough to put on a good show.
