Jet ski winterization prices ?

I want some thoughts here , to preface this I am in the dirt poor deep South Alabama so keep that in mind , I realize in other parts of the world people can and will pay a lot more .

I have been charging $110 to show up on site and winterize jet skis , two jet ski minimum , I can't do that for one lonely ski unless it is in the same neighborhood , my feelings are that my price is way low and I need to go up , when I Google how much the price for this service is it says $600 -800 which I find utterly ridiculous . As you know prices on everything have gone way high and my prices have not in years , I now feel it's time to do so.

So I am talking about a straight up Winterization on a two stroke or four stroke watercraft , no oil changes, nothing fancy , fuel stabilization, antifreeze, fog the engine, spray it with protective lubricant and disconnect the battery , jet pump oil change is included on Seadoos for an extra cost. Barring having to change the jet pump oil It is probably a 30 minute job in and out , there are of course shop supplies costs to put in the mix

I can tell you from yesterday that the shop supplies run cost me $45.00 , that is probably enough to do 4 or five skis , maybe more than that on the fuel stabilizer , I can get the price down considerably by buying in bulk such things as fogging oil and fuel stabilizer have then I would to have enough winterizations to make it worth my while.

So I know most peeps here winterize their own stuff or ride it all year , but of those of you that may have had that service done in the past or others here who actually perform this service , how much did you pay or more importantly how much do you think it should actually cost ?

I think you don't want to run off your regular customers. If it was me I would charge $150 and see how the customers respond. If everone accepts the increase then I would consider another increase next year. That's my 2 cents.

For the basic winterizations, just like you stated, fuel treatment (Lucas ethanol treats more fuel per dollar than Stabil), RV antifreeze, fog engine, unhook battery, and make sure drain plugs are out. On new customers I also do compression check.
2 stroke.......$60 +tax
4 stroke.......$70
4 stroke supercharged........$80
Any oil changes or tuneups are added charges.
Charge battery is an extra $5
I DON"T go to your location or marina for any amount of extra money, I don't want the hassle. Machine MUST be dropped off here.
These will likely all go up some next season.

I was doing them for around $75.00 for Yamahas and Kawis when they were dropping them off at the shop , I think I got around $110 on Seadoos with jet pump oil change , To me $150 per to show up on location and do them sounds reasonable , it's convivence store pricing if you want a cold drink it's $1.50 , if you want to go to the grocery store and put them in the fridge yourself it's less than half that.

FX1Mark , I am not that worried about running customers off , each year the guys who are going to winterize with me do so , but no matter how much I preach it all year long to every single customer year after year there are less and less winterizations to do , now honestly I have not gone after it with signs , flyers etc like I have in the past but still for some stupid reason people seem to think that four strokes don't need winterizing and regrettably that is where the market went.
