I would like to officially introduce the prop guages I've been working on. Thanks to feedback from several riders/tuners over the last 2 years we have finally dialed in a guage layout that is easy to use without the need to ever shim your prop off your measuring surface which could likely skew your readings. To accomplish this we had to make a prop guage set of 3 where all trailing edge pitch readings run off the bottom edge of each guage.

Prop Pitch Gauges are now available in a easy to read clear 4mil film and made to adjust to read the following prop sizes:
140mm
144mm
148mm
150mm
155mm
160mm

Easy to follow instructions on how to trim and read gauges are included in each shipment.

The gauge set is budget priced at $40 shipped within the US

I think this is an awesome idea! I'm curious though how these work with each manufacturer having different pitch numbers ...I've always understood a skat and Solas of same pitch are different. And than there's the hooker which aRe different again.

They are great for when you buy a prop, and lets say its not quite enough. So you set it in the gauge and add pitch where its needed, or remove, depending on what your boat needs. Great tool to have around, I have had one in my garage for a quite a few months now.

Can you ship these in an envelope ? What would it be, shipped to Denmark?
To most country’s international shipping will cost $27. When laid flat the gauges are 24” long untrimmed and about 22” trimmed. They cannot be folded over flat and shipped in an envelope and still be usable to any degree of accuracy. Pitch gauges will be shipped in USPS Flat Rate International Priority Mail Boxes and you should expect them to your door in 6-10 business days internationally. USA shipping runs $6 and expected within 2-3days.

Thank you. That is correct, all props are variable pitch. The gauge is primarily uses as a reference so to insure all 3 blades are measuring the same. The feedback I have received over the 2 years of making these gauges has been overwhelming with how many props are off from 1 blade to another. The gauges are also used to mark a prop before and after repitching to check how far a prop has moved.

Not to derail the thread but is there a DIY thread to repitch your own impeller to go along with this ?
I have found the best DIY prop repitching guides located at the following links. Alot of great info on the web so I do not include how to repitch, I include instructions on how to trim and setup the gauge as well as tips and best practices on how to read a prop against the gauge. If you don’t want to DIY repitch @speedysprocket does quality repitch work at a very fast turnaround.

Got mine yesterday and couldn't be happier with them.

These are one of those tools I have always wanted to have around but I could never justify the high cost of the rigid style gauges. I also like how little room these take up as well. I laid mine in a drawer under some service manuals and you'd never know they were there.

Wow very cool Ashby. I didnt see you were making these. I made some overhead transparency copies at work years ago and they work great. I have been using them for about 4 years with great success. I also have the Watcon ones, they both work the same to me. Super idea, and the fact that you have listed the lenghts of the prop sizes is a super idea for getting the lenght correct the first time. Great idea 1/4 the cost.
