js 300 still not sparking(update)

Hey I've been messing with this thing since last summer.it just died in the water,no spark.checked he cdi to plug wire, it read the proper reading. Wires and connectors all looked good to in the ebox.So I opened up the stator it looked good the charge coil/igniter coil looked rusty and poopy so I picked one up.installed it and still the same thing.what the hell do I look at next.

I picked up a js300 from a friend once that had no spark.. he had spent 295$ on a oem coil for it, didn't fix it.. I did some testing and decided to try and buy a voltage regulator, runs now.. I'm not saying for sure that's your issue, but it worked for me.. and I have one of the cleanest 300's around! Which also has an e-box with about 450$ stuffed in it..lol there is lots of these things out there with this problem, and I've been asked to take my e-box out and try it in theirs before and I'm like nope! Not happening.. what I do know is that it's real important to keep a good battery in it and never charge it while hooked up...

That's what I was thinking next thats what the wiring diagram kinda points to also. I thought for sure it was that stator coil cause of how poopty it looked.ima try testing the rectifier l8er

"and never charge it while hooked up" thats probably why my 440 has such weak spark and barely runs now :(

running the charger and trying to start it probably isn't helping either.

You could have a bad ground on one if the coils on stator, or lost the ground to the ignition coil itself.. make sure your wiring harness isn't getting hot too...

I was getting intermittent spark a couple weeks back and this is what I found!

Thats 5 factory 18awg wires clamped into a 3/8" metal clip on the stator plate:( so I decide to +1 it:cool:

^^factory wire off, new 16awg soldered on.

^^ Runnin Alcohol....... jk water defector.

I would disconnect the stop button first and give her a whirl, and if still nothing, try the above. Did the trick for me.

Well I tryed to test a few other things on this thing that all checked out.so I checked this exciter coil I bought from someone on here that appeared good bit I'm still got getting any resistance reading from these red and black wires like the old rusty one.does this mean that this coil is bad to?
