js550 freestyle build

hey i'm just going to tell you a little bit about this build and then just post a bunch of pictures. Well it started out last sept when i bought a 550 for 200 dollars in san fran. when i brought it back the whole motor was shot i mean pistons crank carb. and we tore it all down that night and had it put back that weekend. in the last 2 or 3 months i started this build. so far my parts list is as follows.
ocean pro head
black jack carb
rad lightend charging flyweel
tau ceti with blowsion outerware
mariner (factory) half pipe
mariner waterbox
rule 500 bilge
quick steer plate
umi bars
billet finger throttle
rev footholds (Water dawg kustomz)
westcoast ride plate
westcoast intake grate

anyways, i finished my foot holds and everything a few weeks ago, i know the turf is kinda crappy but this is my first ski and my first time. my goal is to do everything mark gomez did with his and then some.
after i got the motor back together this weekend i did a cold compression check and got around 125. and i was very disapointed. so i'm getting ready to deploy here soon and when i get back i'm going to get it bored and ported by groupk. I haven't bought a prop for it either i'm going to try to get one set up for bottom end maybe a 12-16 or somthing. i just figured i'd wait till i get the groupk hammer and then have the guys at impros decide whats best.

After the project was a complete fail last summer and everything that could go wrong did we started over. I sent down a box full of parts to Art at jetworks to have him build me a motor. This is the motor I got back.

Fresh bore .050 pistons
ported cylinders with transfer porting
shaved head
PJS crankshaft
manifold porting and matching
rebuilt blackjack carb

If Art assembled that engine you should have lots of fun on it... I have a similar setup. You could put on some tubbies for the surf - my 550 with tubbies is a completely different animal - handles awesome!
