Kawa SX-800R

Hi,

I have just added a 06' sxr to our ski stable, this one purely for racing. just need a little advice with regards mods.

coming first :

RnD rideplate (seems more extended than stock)
RnD intake grate
UMI - 2" pole with 4 deg bars
UMI Steering system

From there i am planning on a pipe and impellar together as well as the head milled (i will have 2 set ups, a billet head for racing running on race fuel and the normal head running pump gas)

where i am confused is :

tubbie 2's ?
rear sponsoons ?

which should i put on or should i put both on ?

and should i put tubbies on my SJ (even though its purely a freestyel ski?) and which ones (1 or 2's)

:cool2:

Congrats on the new ski. Ant is right. No need for tubbies on the SX-R. As far as the rear sponsons go, it's all a preference. It really depends on your riding style. I have a set and like them and I believe most people that try them stick with it. But, it's not a huge difference and you don't need them.

As far as the SJ goes, they make it more stable so If you would like more stability go for it. I think they are more beneficial in the surf than on flat water. My 2 cents.

thanks guys,

i think i will hold off on tubbies on the SJ. its purely a flatwater freestyle machine (or will be , pretty stock as of now but bits on the way lol )

with only a bash at the surf a couple weekends a year.

the kawa is an awesome ski, but i know why i have a superjet too(looooovvveee my SJ!!!!) . i tend to slide the rear out no matter what ski i am on, you should see me on the superjet, its like i do power 360's round every bouy lol

the kawa is far better and i only lost the rear once or twice over 30-40 od laps. i am hoping the rideplate and intake make a nice difference, as i found it struggling powering out the corners and she was starving for water as it was very choppy.

a quick question, my wife and i will both be using the kawa for racing, but have to share the kawa for the weekend training between us. could i bash off 30laps on the kawa then me and her switch ski's and bash another 30 laps on the superjet. will this have a bad affect on riding styel come race day ?

the reason i ask is the various styles needed to get each ski around the co

put tubbies on the sj if your gonna race it, but for Freestyle leave it alone. the sxr doesnt need tubbies. if your racing your sxr, get some TBM racing rear side sponsons, their awesome

as for your style from switching ski to ski, dont worry about it.
