Kevlar Glass Carbon

Carbon flexes less, making it more prone to cracking on hard impacts. I believe glass is more forgiving (more flex), but is definitely heavier. I don't know much about Kevlar.

For surf, it seems that a carbon/glass combo hull is best to combine weight loss and strength. Or full glass if weight isn't an issue (for big surf).
Full carbon is pretty much flatwater only. I'm sort of guessing that Kevlar acts as a middle ground between the two, but I'm not sure.

Hopefully a more knowledgeable person will clarify. I run a carbon/glass hull.

Kevlar is more tear and abrasion resistant than anything else. We were using it 2nd layer in on bottom decks for beaching wear. It does not cut well both as fabric and cured material. It has its places, like tow ropes and bullet proof vests. Its also good in areas where things bolt through the hull like pole bracket area and pump bolt and rideplate bolt areas to ensure no matter what an insert wont pull through. Anything we did was all on theory, we never dropped anything off a sky scraper to test lol.
