So I bought a gallon of Klotz last summer. Man does is smell good.. Used maybe half of it. Left it inside my travel trailer over the winter, went to mix some fuel today it sounded like water inside when I shook the jug not like oil.. Poured some into the ratio rite and it had the consistency of oily water. Anyone ever experienced this? Didnt smell right either.. Could the heat and cold cause this? Water didn’t into the trailer into a sealed jug. Just super strange..

I will say that SkiCraft oil seems to be from my experience, a low viscosity oil to start with to any changes that might have occurred. When I switched from R50 (50 weight oil) to SkiCraft, I was like wow this stuff seems like 20W or less.

A half full jug of Oil contains Air, which occupies half of the jug. Air contains Moisture. Cold temps condensed the Moisture into Liquid Water. Water mixed with the Oil...

And, if it contained Castor Oil, realize that Castor Oil is a Vegetable Oil. Vegetable Oils go rancid, i.e. undergo oxidation and decomposition...

So store Oil in a climate controlled storage, use it all up before it becomes rancid (expiration date) or add a stabilizer.

P.S. Ricin Deadly Poison is made from Castor Seeds. The Castor Seed IS the Bean. Try not to sniff that stuff o_O

R-50 has been reformulated, Its the viscosity of skicraft now. From everything I can tell, its just fine

I have been running R50 for some time now. The only thing that has me thinking of changing to Skicraft is the moisture inhibitors. The R50 seems so “thick” every engine I have torn down has a good film on it and no signs of rust. I don’t have any experience with it on PV motors. BK had an interesting suggestion of mixing Skicraft and R50 together, might give it a try.

A simple fix to this problem is to run Amsoil red dominator but beware the insane horsepower gains from gods greatest gift to man kind will most likely hospitalize you if dont have shoulders the size of gourds.
Amsoil is about the worst you can get

Blue aka Blueportworx runs Dominator in his Ninja 1200, pistons stay really clean, great history results and ski rips. He says his is red colored oil too.

All I can say is I had a dasa 1200 sit at the bottom of a fresh water lake for over a year and the last fuel it ran had amsoil in it.
Pulled it out, soaked it in amsoil, new seals and gaskets and put over 20 hours on it as it was before I blew it up haha. That and when chicks see the red oil they come running..
