Knee Replacement

Anyone here still riding after total knee replacement? I'm approaching 64 years old and have been nursing a sore knee for a long time. (Bone on bone) Had it scoped 2 times in the last 25 years. Had major surgery on my left femur and knee in 1980. I'm at the point were it hurts more than not. I run everyday, lift 4 x's a week and other wise in good shape. I currently have 3 Yamaha SJ 4 strokes and 2 GP1800R sit downs. Trying to see if anyone has had a replacement and resumed riding.

Thanks

This is a good question. IM 56 and looking at replacing double knees due to jetsking wearing them out. Im a little nervous myself

A guy in our region races with 1 replaced knee and just went under the knife for second. He still rides great! Oh he’s well into his 60’s

Now. What about replacement ankle? That’s newer but curios….

I had a hip replaced, best thing I ever did, I believe the recovery time for a knee replacement may be a little longer than the Hip replacement but the Dr's here have them both down pat.

At some point I will have to have my right knee replaced , it's been acting up a lot lately , it's still workable at this point , not sure for how much longer though..

My friend had his knee replaced in January and has raced every AJSA race this summer. When I had my ACLs replaced, I couldn't stand to put pressure where the incision was. Only way to get over it is to just do it though. Eventually it didn't bother me.

Good to know about the knee issue, I think I am in line for one myself, 67 is just a few months away. I can assure anyone that has shoulder issues that rotator cuff surgery did not slow me down after going through 6 months of rehab. Mine was a disaster according to the surgeon, and my bicep tendon was torn as well. And all this was in my right arm, and I am right handed. The surgery was two years ago, and my shoulder feels better than it has for 20 years.

I blew my right knee out first thing this morning , right when I lifted the back end of the cherry picker off the trailer, I use to be young and stupid now I guess I am just old and stupid , an ace bandage , some icy hot, a knee brace and an oxycodone later I am back at it just as stupid as ever.

It's just a matter of time on this one, it's a ticking time bomb.
