I have a few questions and concerns with these skis. I have never rode one, nor even seen one in person in my area (Arizona, USA).

Questions:

1. Have any of you bought this ski? What was the cost to buy a ski, cost of shipping to you, and import taxes?

2. Are these made in the US at all? Or are they all imported into the states?

Concerns:

1. Because these motors are built and supplied from Krash. It has to be pricey to rebuild them, and import them.
Are the engines reliable? Are the pumps reliable? I am in fear of buying this ski for 12k, and then having to somehow find another 5k to rebuild the pump and/or engine after a few hours and be sidelined from the water for months on end.

2. Are the hulls even good? For such a low price for a complete ski, it leaves me in fear of getting a subpar product. If the motor and pump are good, that leaves the hull... Is it strong? Anyone experienced any cracks or imperfections?

3. Not a concern, but if anyone in the Lake Havasu area has a Krash 50cal, I would like to meet up and possibly try it out. I'll bring snacks and gas

I would advise what kaylee says at this point. I understand people have to spend the money and take the risk for krash to evolve and overcome the point they’re at right now. But $12k is above my risk factor. You do get a lot for that $12k but I would purchase a couple year old rickter or something like that. Or you could build a decent 701 ski with mostly new parts for that.

Concerning concern # 2, some of the best riding/handling hulls,(love the Predator), my opinion ,but quality was a deal breaker with me.

Haha, well I'm biased. But my phantom for one, it's a bulletproof do it all ski that can flatwater flip, chase boats, and is a ball in the surf.

There's also really nice carbon superfreak on SoCal craigslist that I wish i had the money to buy as a second rec ski!

That freaks so nice. I’ve wanted the buy it every time it’s popped up for sale.

Good or bad deal breaker?
I only ever had FX/SJ's. Friend of mine was into am hulls, let me ride his a bunch. Told him I was thinkin am for myself so he hooked me up with guys he knew that had SV's ,BOT's ,Predators/JB1's. Got to ride everything full tank back to back rides(no short blast) and to be honest that friggin Predator was in my opinion the best handling/riding hull (surf) that day. However, when he popped the hood to look at inside quality, he sliced his hand open on the layup. Mmmm. And hearing about assembly issues he's had for customers on at least 3 different hulls, I just couldn't pull the trigger on one. So guess I'd call that a bad deal breaker.

It’s all about preference and picking your battles, I personally have 2 krash reapers there great hulls and ride amazing in the surf, there built up with quality aftermarket and OEM Yamaha parts, and it cost well over 12 grand to build a solid aftermarket ski with all new parts, I personally wouldn’t trust there ready to ride skis until they get more out, and fix all the problems, but I’d have no problem buying another krash hull. Every am ski company has there problems, but nobody else will build you a complete ski for 12 grand

I've heard great things about the hulls. The only thing that scares me is Kavinci pumps and motors. I know the RTR motors use some yamaha and kawasaki internals, but for the parts that aren't yamaha and kawasaki, I do not want to wait weeks on end to have to get imported a crank or something like that.

Im all for the Krash RTR, I love what they are doing, but I will remain skeptical until I see some more positive reviews on their motors.
Maybe if I just wait another year or so they can get the bugs fixed...

I want the RTR because I like that it comes ready to go, I am not really wanting to build a ski. I do not have the time, money, or mechanical skills enough to do that on my own.

I just want the ski to run with no problems.
I go to the lake probably twice a week for 2 hours or so at a time.

Im iffy to drop 12.5k on a ski that never runs.

I was on the verge of buying a 50cal RTR. But bought a tigercraft instead and built it myself. I’m glad I did, it was more fun to build it myself and any stupid mistakes I made were on me and not a company on the other side of the world. After seeing all the issues with them, I’m happy I stuck with USA made. Although I do hope they get their RTR skis dialed in in the future because I think it’s a sweet offering in the jetski market
