Late season lake surf

Got some decent 20mph+ wind out of the east that made some waves for us on Lake Superior last Friday so a few of us played hooky and went for a day trip. The day started off with pretty clean 2' surf but progressed to washing machine 4-6' and we got inundated by college kids who thought they could surf it. Overall a good day, first time getting my backie chan out in some surf, really loved the way it handled on a wave. Unfortunately I spent most of the day riding and only a little bit taking pictures so I didn't get a lot.

Water temps are mid 50s, air was about 60 that day and sunny, by far the best weather I have had out there.

Totally awesome, now I want to move back to the coast. I told myself that was probably the last time riding for the season but the weather isn't changing drastically so maybe we can squeeze another session in if the wind comes back.
