Freestyle Latest opinions on FW batteries?

What battery and charger have you been using lately that works ? Anyone have success with Autocraft lithium LFP-5? AGM 9' s work but are so heavy and they are tough to keep secured with the weight. Batteries in a FW ski have always been a pia especially mounted at bulkhead for me. Opinions welcome thanks.

I have been really happy with the wps one I have been using. Do yourself a favor and buy it from a local dealer. 2 year warranty if they swell or do anything funky. Also make sure you buy a waterproof one

I never liked how the battery is low mounted all the time at the bulk head, basicly sitting in water. So I mounted mine high and it's been good..
You have good luck with AG batteries? I know someone with $2000 worth of dead ones. I know Clemmons has them figured out with the proper charging method. Did you make that box for it?

First one lasted under 2 years. It hurt knowing the $280 batt was done. Luckily I had already bought another at a discount so I wasn't ski less. So I bought yet another one so I'd still have a spare. I sorta rotate them 2 into the ski. Been 4 plus years now. Charge after every ride, about 5 gallons worth. Unless at the beach then 10 gallons. Remove from ski when charging or not in use. I use the anti gravity charger or whatever brand it is. It doesn't need such frequent charging iam just trying to stay well above min voltage.

That battery box I modeled out of cardboard, it's sized around the anti 16 cell battery, so without really realizing it I limited myself to that size battery, I sent the model to Steve at the Watercraft factory in Florida and he made it out of glass for me.. I made the mounting set up and held the strapping set up.

I didn't mention the anti brand in this thread cause every body already knows about them. I have a buddy that trashes these battery's. Over discharges, incorrectly changes, crosses battery terminals. Another buddy bought a different brand and was his first lipo..... I spent a lot of time convincing him to get the recommended charger... But when I told him to disconnect it when not in use or when storing over winter so you don't accidentally drop below min voltage he declined...

After 3 Ballistics and a AG, I bought 2 Battery Tender brand batteries (1 as a spare to keep at my cabin). I leave the lithium battery tender on it all winter, going on 3 years on the first one still. It is also mounted up high out of the water!

What kind of voltage readings do you get after 5 gallons and 10 ? Ever check it to see the drop?

@McDog has had good success with the battery tender brand batteries too. I use their charger on the advanced auto parts Lithiums Autocraft but still TBD on reliability vs 1yr replacement hassle.

My battery tender 480 stays up high on a limited slip gas tank, has flex seal around the seams, and caulking around the terminals. I also pull ot out after every days ride and charge it overnight on battery tender lipo charger, then stick it in the freezer until I need it again.

Wait.... Talk to me about the freezer please. Does it extend its life?

They are supposed to be stored between -20 and 20 degrees Celsius according to the manufacturer. I also read some physics papers online on how lower temperatures protect the cells. I cant find the papers now but that was my reasoning for the freezer.
