Lay down pipe ?'s

Looking for direction and advice on which pipe to choose. Pfp seems to be the top choice. I'm just a flatwater rider that is just wanting some more power. Planning on going with a hpe 5mm. All have pros and cons but I'm looking for something that is fairly easy to tune and is going to last.

I know that it is a complicated question but that's why I'm asking because every time I see a pipe for sale I second guess buying because I don't know if it's right for me.

I wasn't impressed with my TNT. I bought it because I was chasing boats and I figured I might crack a pfp, but after buying the most expensive pipe on the market and not seeing that much gain.... the pfp seems to make more power. For flat water you don't want all bottom end too.. that Hpe will do the first flip/trick then from there you want all top end to keep going.
 
Well after reading through a thread that talked about water injecting a pfp almost makes my head spin. Is that still how people run them or is it ran as a straight dry pipe. I don't mind testing and tuning but I want to ride more than wrench.

I would go with what your engine builder recommends, but PFP mid to high, injected same as TNT or RRP IMO. TNT or RRP are both injected, therefore more bottom to mid, less top end unless you really tune it, possibly with water injection controller. Sorry no magic bullet for max power, its always a compromise. For whats its worth i like all three depending on the set up.

Its a no brainer in my book. PFP lets you have 2 diffrent pipes, if you just tap a hole in the manifold. This way you can experiment with both dry and wet pipe setup, and possibly find the setup that suits your riding and power delivery style. After all, its all down to what YOU like and not anyone on a forum :)
On a second note, if you align and secure you PFP you should have no issues. Im running a Gen 1 pipe (no spot welds) and its still 100% air tight.

That's why I was leaning to powerfactor. Is there a difference between earlier models besides spot welds?

The thread I read was the masterblaster one. It was a good read till the drama train rolled in.

No change between them besides the structural spot weld. I dont know if all new PFP pipes coming out of Xscream HQ's has the double O ringed flange on the chamber or if its a comp style pipe.

I played a little around with water injection this summer. Insane off idle bottom end, actually almost to much. But its easy to switch around and find whats suits you.

Sort of the reason I got a used TNT. I haven't seen many positive reviews of this pipe unfortunately.
Thats why I am keeping my Bpipe on the shelf.
Just in case, can you just change the chamber to a pfp ?

Well I'll chime in. I just started braking in my HPE 5mil with a tnt v2. Its got a crisp bottom end snap then it just frickin pulls. The mid range power is insane for a small motor. I think in a light hull you could combo all day long. But here's the thing... I haven't ridden any flatwater hulls and this is my first lay down pipe LOL. I have only ridden a handfull of big motor surf boats and only 2 boats with powerfactors. Hpe told me if I want bottom end just run a bpipe.

All that being said I think it will be possible to flip my big heavy predator off a small boat wake.

I think getting the temps right on the tnt is crucial. I have to order some of those temp strips from somewhere.

For flatwater pf all the way. They like a lot of timing though so you might want to think about going total loss if you go that route. Nothing wrong with a b pipe on your motor. It will still rip. I bought a tnt for my aquabot and a b pipe would have been perfectly fine just didn't want to jack with the head pipe being in the way if I needed to pull a powervalve.

Not dogging you bud but you'd better ride a few more skis. It's hard to know what good is until you've ridden it. Each motor will react differently to each setup. I can tell you with my setup the PFP was a way better choice.

I see a lot of big motors and pipes running just an enhancer, are they leaving a lot on the table? I will possible go total loss when I go a larger pv motor. Maybe I'll just run my b-pipe but all the people that say a lay down pipe makes night and day difference makes me want to switch.
