lazy Starter... ?

Hi dudes , need your help... I`m starting up my ski after the Winter layover , it`s an old SN 650 (has a 701 twin carb motor fitted) It will spin like a top without the spark plugs installed..., but spin slowly with the plugs screwed in... ? The plugs have a nice spark. What is happening..... ? Thanks in advance...

Your making compression when the plugs are in causing much more resistance for the starter to turn it over.

+1 on the battery. I just had the issue with my wife's couch (sea doo spark). I charged the battery fully and it read 13.4 volts. Ski wouldn't turn over. I was on my way to get it load tested when I said F it and got a brand new AGM battery. Fixed up first try. After I tore everything apart of course.

Get a new battery or get it load tested first. Then go from there.

Could be bad battery, cables, or starter.

Do a volt test on the battery while sitting. Fully charged should be 12.5+ volts. When cranking it should NOT drop below 10.5 max. I like to see 11+ when cranking.
