Update: krash will be replacing the hull.
I bought my Krash FootRocket from the original owner after he used it for about 3 months, it was in mint condition, maybe a tiny mark here or there. When i was building the ski, I noticed some tan colored sticky/gooey stuff in a few places by the nose of hull, (I thought) this is weird, i guess 1st owner spilled some glue and it never setup, no biggy, actone and gone(or so i thought ) After after a few rides on my new pride and joy, I noticed some more of that gooey stuff on the front right side of the ski..."oops i guess i missed some, acetone and done"....(1 Week later) It showed up again in the same area, by this time I figured out the gooey stuff was factory resin that wasn't mixed properly and was oozing from her core .
I emailed Nick (owner of Krash) previously discussing ride plate options, he always responded... Well i emailed him multiple photos on a few occasions(emails months apart showing the damage becoming worse), hoping maybe for some advice or something... he did email me back once out of those few emails and said: "Looks like repair work has been done to that hull"....(Thinking) Ok...thanks for the help.... I told him no repair work has been done to the hull, I had to fiberglass the rideplate so it would fit properly(1st owner used washers as a spacer, I didnt like that), but other then that, no glass has touch this ski...Few more photos, no reply... Well I'm on my own, no surprise... Maybe if i paid full retail(first owner) I would of had better customer service....
Time to put away for a few months for winter... (This season starts, yay!) Fast Forward a month, (starting to get hot out) I go out to the shop to get my ski ready for the weekend, to my surprise, there is resin dripping onto my trailer from the bondrail . Well, this sucks..I noticed the rail was starting to crack in this area and was soft , I knew that i needed to do something about it soon...
(another month goes by) Getting my ski ready for a little get together on my lake, I was replacing some turf, the factory turf was starting to get a little beat down. I had the ski lifted up at and angle, so i looked at the bottom to see the condition of the paint... I saw water dripping from the bottom of the hull, I found two cracks on the bottom, under the engine (sickening). Well $#*$, I have to fix that before this weekend, so i flipped the ski, and while i was there I fixed the leaky resin spot on the bondrail. The hull made it almost a season and a half without cracking, not too impressed, I was never harder on this ski then my superjet. My superjet made it threw many years of riding, with not one crack, but i did reinforce the hull. Oh and this Footrocket has the "Surf Layup"...
Picture time:
This is after already trying to wipe it off a few times..
Its back...
Resin on my trailer
and again, now i can really start to see a crack
Wiped off, but will return again soon..
