lien question

How can you find out if there is a lien on a jet ski or trailer? Most people don't have any paper work when they go to sell there ski's for what ever reason. I went to the dmv in cali and they said can't give out that info. Does anyone no how to find this out.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated

You could call Interstate Lien Sales, they provide lien sale service and may be able to help or give you some direction. Google them they should be on the web I get flyers often from them and have used them in the past in my business

I had to do a paper less title transfer on a ski I bought without a pink, I did have a letter and bill of sale from the last registered owner, it was a bit of a pain but when I registered it any outstanding liens come up,
