I reckon I can break it!

Hey guys just wondering if anyone has any ideas on where I can fix the elastic part of my limiting rope to in this situation, keeping in mind I'd like to be able to remove it easily as well. If anyone has any pics that would be a great help, thanks in advance.

Where your two hood straps connect, take one or both bolts out and attach a link or two of ss chain. Then use a quick connect on the end of your elastic so you can remove it easily.

i'd just take a 1/8 drill bit and drill a tiny hole through the cylinder where your stop/start cord runs.

You could use a tiny bungee cord and just hook it to the underside of the poles bottom bracket. Or even drill a hole in the bottom lip of the pole.

I cut one end off a bungee and tied it to the bracket so it only had one plastic hook holding the rope.

Still works.

That's real close to mine. The bungee keeps it out of the way but make sure it doesnt come off in the surf.

How did you secure the loops on the limiting rope loops? It does not looked tied. I'm looking for other methods because I don't like the huge knots. I've been told rope splicing is the strongest but no one does it. I read LBE used staple type stuff but can't find anything other than the bungee staples.

Thanks,

Chad

I stitched it back on itself and then slid a bit of resin filled heat shrink (the type used for waterprofing electrical wires) over the top of the join. no way it's coming apart.
